Problem & Context

OIZO World is an AI-powered travel platform that helps users discover and plan trips by combining natural language search, smart recommendations, and monetizable itineraries. The product aims to make travel planning easier and more affordable while highlighting alternatives to overcrowded destinations.

Platform Architecture

  • Frontend: React + TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, Redux Toolkit, and React Router.
  • Backend: Django and Django REST Framework powering core APIs and business logic.
  • Data & Integrations: Payment flows with Stripe and authentication via Clerk.
  • Deployment: Dockerized services deployed and monitored with Coolify on Hetzner VPS.

My Role

As part of the backend and data team, I focused on designing and operating the server-side of the platform:

  • Co-designed the backend and data architecture to keep the platform scalable and maintainable.
  • Deployed and maintained backend services using Coolify, Docker, and GitHub workflows.
  • Implemented REST APIs, background jobs, and data workflows in Django to power user content and personalization features.
